Maple Meatball Recipe

This maple meatball recipe works as a main meal or appetiser. The dish is also fantastic for football season.

– 1/2 cup maple syrup (real) – 1/2 cup chili sauce – 2 tsp. chives (dried, or 2 tablespoons fresh chives) – 1 Tbsp. soy sauce – 1/2 tsp. ground mustard – 1 lb. cooked meatballs (frozen, fully, thawed)

Ingredients

Put the syrup, ground mustard, chives, chilli sauce, and soy sauce in a pot.

 Heat to a gentle boil. Bring back to a boil after adding the meatballs.

Simmer the meatballs for 8–10 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until done.

Over hot cooked rice (I prepared 1 1/2 batches of the sauce) or as an appetiser with toothpicks. Serves 5–6.
