Simple Yuletide Coconut Cherry Cookie Recipe

Crispy on the outside and soft on the interior are Yuletide Coconut Cherry Cookies. These are the ideal Christmas party cookies!   

– ½ cup butter  – 3 ounce cream cheese  – ½ cup sugar – ¼ teaspoon almond extract – 1 cup all-purpose flour – 1 teaspoon baking powder – ¼ teaspoon salt – ¾ cup coconut flake – 15 maraschino cherrie


Blend butter, cream cheese, and sugar in a paddle-attached electric mixer for 1–2 minutes.  


Add almond extract. Beat. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture.   


Cover and chill for 1 hour until manageable. Preheat oven to 350℉. Make 1-inch dough balls and roll in coconut flakes.  


Arrange 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake 12–15 minutes until lightly browned.  


Place a cherry half in the centre of each cookie immediately. Let cool on wire racks.
