Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports that the Lakers will continue to vet other coaches, including Pelicans assistant coach James Borrego and ESPN analyst JJ Redick.

1 . What's next for the Lakers?

Lakers allegedly gained permission to interview Heat assistant coach Chris Quinn in mid-May. Shams Charania of The Athletic says Warriors assistant coach Kenny Atkinson is a candidate. 

Atkinson was set to coach the Hornets in 2022, but he changed his mind and stayed with the Warriors. Atkinson may find his dream job with the Lakers two years later. 

2 . Lakers coaching candidate

Borrego coached again in 2023-24 after a year. Borrego did not coach in 2022-23 after being sacked by the Hornets. New Orleans assistant coach Borrego revamped the offence to feature Brandon Ingram, CJ McCollum, and Zion Williamson. 

Redick left football in 2021 and rose in the media. Due to his basketball IQ and podcast with LeBron James, he is a genuine prospect.
